About Bharat Solar

There are two categories of technologies that harness solar energy, Solar Photovoltaics and Solar Thermal.

Solar Photovoltaic (or PV) is a technology that converts sunlight into direct current electricity by using semiconductors[3]. In contrast, Solar Thermal is a technology that utilizes the heat energy from the sun for heating or electricity production[4].

Solar is a renewable resource and does not emit any greenhouse gases in the energygeneration process. However, the cost of solar in relation to other fuel sources is a barrier to adoption. Additionally, sunlight varies depending on geographic location, season, and time of day, which all creates limitations on its use.

In a world where energy information is dominated by polarized soundbites, Bharat Solar is on a mission to deliver accurate and unbiased energy information to students across the world. Bharatsolar.org.in is a universal entry point for learning about the energy system.

BharatSolar.org.in was built for Generation Y.  There are many key features that make this platform tailored to the way Millenials learn. The most exciting and unique navigation feature of the site is an Energy Systems Map (powered by the RBC Foundation) that captures the interconnections of the complex energy system in a simple yet dynamic way.
